Felix Ventouras will attend the premiere of his 2nd original ballet, Cinderella Suite, in Palos Verdes CA on Fri. May 21st - 7pm, Sat. May 22nd - 2pm, & Sun. May 23rd - 3pm. The ballet was commissioned by the Peninsula School of Performing Arts, and is a classic retelling of the traditional Cinderella story. Newport’s resident contemporary ballet company, Island Moving Co., will present a new site-specific “Dracula” at historic and atmospheric Belcourt Castle October 16, 17 & 18, 2009. Artistic Director Miki Ohlsen is developing the libretto for a new ballet which will move from room to room in Oliver Belmont’s magnificent 1894 mansion at 657 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI. A commissioned score by Felix Ventouras will be played live for the six performances, incorporating string quartet, percussion, Belcourt’s 1891 Steinway grand and its ballroom’s historic pipe organ. |

Felix Ventouras recently returned from the premiere of his 1st full-length ballet, Dracula, performed in the historic Belcourt Castle of Newport Rhode Island. The Island Moving Co. commissioned the work and Artistic Director Miki Ohlsen choreographed the nearly 2 hour main event. To read the review from the Providence Journal, click here. |

On June 11th 2009, Felix Ventouras presented his first NYC showcase at the National Arts Club, Mirror Me Merrily. The evening included the world premiere of his wind quartet "Passing Through" and also featured his "Cello Sonata no. 1" and "Tarentella". Performing in the concert were Elizabeth Janzen (flute), Paul Blimling (cello), Meighan Stoops (clarinet), Teodora Dimitrova (violin), Sarah Schram (english horn), and Stephen Wingard (sax). |
